El Enano de la Catedral was a post-punk and new-wave band, formed in Caracas in 1988 by members from Psh-Psh: Lorena Gimeno Sassone "Norma" (drums), Oswaldo Gobeo (synth), Luis Miguel Sanabria (bass), Douglas Álvarez (guitar), and Julio Pacheco (vocals). They played at different events in Caracas, including the theater Rafael Guinand, el Parque Naciones Unidas (alongside Sentimiento Muerto), and the first edition of Los Insurgentes (1989) by Félix Allueva and José Tomás Angola Heredia in the theater Cadafe. In this event they were together with Zapato 3, Trucos, Eskape, Lavanda Cinética, El Rastro, Sueño en Rojo, Radio Clip, and Desorden Público. They released the demo Esperanzas Lejanas (1988). The demo included the theme Chirere, from which the TV show A Toque de Venezolana with Erika Tucker filmed a videoclip.
